Occupation Forces Destroy Water Pipelines Southeast of Tubas

Gaza: Israeli occupation forces today destroyed water pipelines in the areas of Atouf and Ras al-Ahmar, southeast of Tubas, said a local activist.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, human rights activist Aref Daraghmeh reported that the occupation forces destroyed the pipelines to clear the way for the construction of a military road in the area. This development is part of ongoing land-leveling operations, which have included the destruction of water infrastructure and the filling of artesian wells, thereby causing significant economic losses to the agricultural sector.

In a move that has raised concerns among local communities, the occupation authorities announced late last year their plans to construct a military road. The road is set to extend approximately 22 kilometers, starting from the Ein Shibli checkpoint, southeast of Tubas, and reaching the Tayasir checkpoint, east of Tubas. The destruction of essential water infrastructure is seen as a precursor to this construction project.
