Gaza: An international solidarity activist was injured as Israeli colonists attacked the al-Kaabneh Bedouin community near al-Taybeh, east of Ramallah, according to local sources. The sources reported that the colonists drove their sheep into the house of Nayef al-Kaabneh and assaulted the inhabitants and international solidarity activists, causing bruises to the activist's face and head.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the violent incident occurred on Thursday evening when colonists launched an attack on the community. Members of Nayef Kaabneh's family were assaulted, resulting in injuries to three individuals with varying degrees of severity. Following the attack, Israeli forces detained one family member, identified as Suleiman Kaabneh.
The al-Kaabneh family has been subjected to daily attacks by armed colonist gangs for nearly three years, with a noticeable escalation in violence over the past three months. Such violence against Palestinians and their property is a frequent occurrence in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
The attacks by colonists often involve a range of aggressive actions, including property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and assaults on vulnerable homes. There are approximately 1 million Israeli colonists residing in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
