Gaza: Israeli forces on Thursday began establishing a new settlement outpost on land belonging to the village of Faqqu'a, northeast of Jenin, after carrying out land-leveling and clearing operations. The head of the Faqqu'a village council, Barakat al-Amri, reported the developments, highlighting the involvement of protected machinery and workers in the operation.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Israeli forces commenced their activities by leveling and preparing the site. This followed the construction of a military road that connects the area to the main road linking Faqqu'a and Arrabuna. Al-Amri noted that the land leveling is occurring adjacent to the separation wall, a site previously subjected to military land seizure orders issued in 2008. The construction is progressing without new seizure orders, involving workers under the protection of the occupation army.
Al-Amri expressed concerns about the implications of the new settlement outpost, warning that it could separate the village of Arabuna from Faqqu'a. This separation would potentially deprive hundreds of civilians of access to their agricultural lands along the wall, where Israeli authorities already enforce strict access restrictions.
