Israeli Colonists Vandalize Ein Samia Water Infrastructure, Disrupting Supply

Gaza: Israeli colonists attacked the Ein Samia water wells east of the town of Kafr Malik in the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, damaging water pipelines and causing a temporary suspension of water pumping operations.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Water Undertaking stated that its technical teams are actively monitoring the situation and working to restore operations promptly. This incident marks the third attack by colonists on the Ein Samia wells within a week, highlighting an ongoing escalation against water infrastructure.

The utility emphasized that targeting water facilities constitutes a direct attack on essential services and the Palestinians' right to access water. The Ein Samia wells serve as the primary water source for villages and communities in the north and east of Ramallah.

The Jerusalem Water Undertaking also revealed that it is engaging in intensive contacts with international parties to secure protection for the Ein Samia wells and prevent further attacks. The facility is crucial as it supplies water to tens of thousands of Palestinians.

Additionally, the utility is coordinating with the Palestinian Water Authority and the Civil Affairs Authority to push for an end to the attacks, enable technical crews to access the site, repair the damage, and resume water pumping operations as soon as possible.
