According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the General Secretariat considered this decision a well-deserved legal and political achievement, embodying the principles of international justice. It aligns with the rules of international law, the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, and resolutions of international legitimacy, foremost among which is Security Council Resolution No. 2334. This resolution affirms the illegality of settlements and calls for an immediate and complete cessation of all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.

The General Secretariat renewed its call on all countries and the international community to follow the lead of this resolution. It urged taking all practical and legislative measures to prohibit all economic, financial, and service-related activities linked to the Israeli occupation authorities and their "colonial system" in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
