Palestinian Casualty and Injuries in Israeli Strike on Southern Gaza City

Gaza: An Israeli strike on Tuesday evening killed a civilian and injured several others in the Sheikh Ijlin neighborhood in southern Gaza City.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, an Israeli combat drone targeted a gathering of civilians near Khalil al-Wazir Mosque, resulting in the fatality and multiple injuries.

Earlier in the day, six civilians, including a woman, were killed, and several others were wounded, some critically, in a separate Israeli drone strike on the al-Falouja area, west of the Jabalia refugee camp. The strikes are part of a larger military campaign initiated by Israel on October 7, 2023, which has led to the deaths of 73,233 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injuries to 173,707 others. The campaign has devastated 90% of Gaza's infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated at $70 billion.

Since the Gaza ceasefire agreement on October 11, 2025, Israel has reportedly killed 1,110 Palestinians and injured 3,599 others, with 800 bodies recovered during this period. Additionally, at least 10,000 individuals are missing, presumed dead beneath the rubble of their homes.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in the displacement of nearly two million people across the Gaza Strip. Most of those displaced have been forced into Rafah, near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass exodus in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
