Medical Evacuation Through Rafah Crossing Transfers 30 Patients from Gaza

Gaza: Teams on Tuesday participated in a medical evacuation to the Rafah border crossing, transporting 85 people, including 30 patients and 55 companions. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to facilitate access to medical treatment outside the Gaza Strip.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the evacuation began at the Society's Al-Mawasi field hospital in Khan Younis. Red Crescent teams received the patients and their companions, provided necessary logistical and humanitarian support, and assisted in facilitating their transfer according to established field procedures.

The World Health Organization (WHO) managed and implemented the evacuation, coordinating with relevant parties, including completing the necessary procedures for the patients and their companions to cross the Rafah border crossing.

This operation is part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to evacuate patients requiring specialized medical care unavailable in the Gaza Strip, given the significant challenges facing the health sector and the continued strain on medical facilities.
