Israeli Forces Detain Former Palestinian Detainee in Beit Ummar

Gaza: Israeli occupation forces on Saturday evening detained a former Palestinian detainee after surrounding his home in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, according to a local activist.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, media activist Mohammad Awad reported that the occupation forces, disguised in civilian clothing, raided the Al-Qarna neighborhood and surrounded a house. They detained former detainee Ahmad Youssef Hassan Akhleil, 35, before escorting him to an undisclosed location.

Awad stated that the occupation forces had been pursuing Akhleil for several months. During the operation, Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition at the house while Akhleil was inside. They declared the area a closed military zone and prohibited residents from approaching. More than two hours later, they successfully detained him.

Akhleil had previously spent 11 years in Israeli occupation prisons.
