Governor of Hebron Condemns Smotrich’s Decision to Cancel Hebron Agreement as ‘Terrorist Decision’

Hebron: Governor of Hebron Khaled Dudin stated that the decision by extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to cancel the Hebron Agreement is a 'terrorist decision issued by a gang.' In his statement, the governor emphasized that Hebron is an occupied territory and should not be subject to the decisions of what he described as a 'terrorist government.' He highlighted that the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Old City are recognized on UNESCO's World Heritage List as exclusively Palestinian heritage sites.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency, Governor Dudin condemned the actions taken by this 'gang,' asserting that such measures are unacceptable and will not alter the status quo. He urged Palestinians to increase their presence at the Ibrahimi Mosque and in the Old City as a form of resistance. Furthermore, he called upon the international community, which he accused of remaining silent amid the colonists' actions, to speak out and uphold the truth.

An emergency meeting was convened at the Hebron Municipality headquarters on Tuesday evening, where institutions and public events in Hebron expressed their full support for the Hebron Municipality. The meeting, organized by the Mayor of Hebron, Yousef al-Jaabari, saw the participation of representatives from official and civil institutions, national forces, security services, and tribal figures. The gathering reaffirmed their commitment to all political, legal, and popular efforts aimed at opposing the occupation's decision to revoke the municipality's powers over the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Old City.
