Hormuz Strait Fully Reopened to Commercial Vessels Amid US-Iran Truce

Tehran: Tehran announced on Friday evening the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to all commercial vessels, on the tenth day of the truce between the United States and Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the move aligns with the ceasefire in Lebanon, highlighting that full passage through the strait is now permitted for all commercial vessels for the remainder of the truce period. He mentioned that vessel transit will proceed along the coordinated route previously announced by the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday evening that a ten-day ceasefire agreement had been reached between Lebanon and Israel. This agreement, set to take effect at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (midnight Beirut time), followed contacts with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Lebanese Presidency confirmed a phone call between Trump and Aoun, during which Aoun expressed appreciation for the efforts made to achieve a ceasefire in Lebanon, aiming to ensure lasting peace and stability and to advance the regional peace process.
