Israeli Colonists Conduct Talmudic Rituals Near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli colonists performed Talmudic rituals on Wednesday at the Damascus Gate, one of the gates of the Old City in occupied Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that dozens of colonists engaged in these rituals on the eve of "Jewish Passover." Extremist Temple Mount groups had previously called for sacrifices to be offered at the closest point to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Israeli government is accused of exploiting Jewish holidays to escalate tensions in Jerusalem. This is reportedly done by justifying incursions, closing the entrances to the holy city, isolating it, turning it into military posts, preventing Palestinians from entering, and providing protection for colonists to perform rituals at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The report also highlighted that Israeli authorities have continued the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the 33rd consecutive day, citing security reasons.
