West bank: Five Palestinians were injured on Thursday evening in Israeli army fire and attacks by occupiers across the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its crews in the northern city of Tulkarem transported two injured men to a hospital. One of the men was shot in the leg with live ammunition, while the other sustained wounds from live-fire shrapnel in his hand and thigh near the separation barrier in the town of Baqa, northeast of the city.
Separately, the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, stated that an Israeli undercover unit abducted a young man after opening fire on him in the northern city of Nablus. The agency reported that the force infiltrated the area using vehicles with Palestinian license plates and opened fire at a public vehicle carrying the man in the al-Basateen neighborhood before abducting him. The condition and extent of his injuries remain unknown.
In the southern West Bank, anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamra reported attacks by Israeli occupiers on Palestinians in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron. He noted that settlers assaulted shepherds from the Abu Sabha family in Khirbet al-Fakhit, resulting in a head injury to Mohammad Hamad Abu Sabha and bruises to Hamza Ayoub Abu Sabha.
In recent weeks, illegal occupiers have intensified attacks across the West Bank, resulting in the deaths of eight Palestinians since late February, as reported by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission. Since the onset of the Gaza war on Oct. 8, 2023, Israeli forces and occupiers in the West Bank have been responsible for the deaths of at least 1,133 Palestinians, injuries to approximately 11,700 others, and the arrest of roughly 22,000 individuals.
In a landmark opinion in July 2024, the International Court of Justice declared Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
