French Foreign Minister Highlights Critical Need for Aid Access to Gaza

Paris: French Foreign Minister Jean-No«l Barrot emphasized the critical necessity for unhindered access to aid for the Gaza Strip. 'The aid must be allowed to reach civilian populations without hindrance, alongside whom we remain mobilized,' he posted on X.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, France delivered 80 tons of food aid to Gaza on Monday, yet Barrot noted that 'the humanitarian situation remains difficult despite the ceasefire. 320 tons are still waiting to be delivered.' The ongoing military actions by Israel since October 2023 have resulted in the deaths of 72,073 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, with 171,756 others injured.

The conflict has left at least 10,000 people unaccounted for, assumed to be buried under the rubble of their homes across the Strip. Furthermore, nearly two million people have been forcibly displaced from various parts of Gaza, with most seeking refuge in Rafah, near the Egyptian border. This mass displacement marks the largest exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
