Jerusalem: UNICEF Spokesperson, James Elder, said that more than 100 children have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire of early October. 'That is roughly one girl or boy killed every day during the ceasefire.'
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Elder highlighted during a press briefing at the Palais des Nations in Geneva that life in Gaza remains suffocating and survival is still conditional. Although the bombings and shootings have slowed during the ceasefire, they have not stopped.
He reported that since the ceasefire, UNICEF has documented reports of at least 60 boys and 40 girls killed in the Gaza Strip. Elder emphasized that the figure of over 100 child fatalities only accounts for incidents where sufficient details were available, suggesting that the actual number of Palestinian children affected may be higher.
