According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the incident began when undercover Israeli forces infiltrated the Al-Qaryoun neighborhood in the Old City. This was followed by the incursion of several military vehicles that stormed the city from multiple directions. The forces advanced toward the Old City and its surroundings, deploying in several neighborhoods and the eastern market, where live gunfire was heard.
The same sources reported that the undercover forces detained two Palestinian citizens from inside the Old City. Meanwhile, additional Israeli military reinforcements stormed the city from multiple directions.
