Muslim Council of Elders Denounces Israeli Approval of 19 West Bank Colonies

Abu dhabi: The Muslim Council of Elders condemned the Israeli government's approval of the establishment and legalization of 19 settlements in the West Bank. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Council affirmed its rejection of such provocative practices, which aim to alter the legal and historical status of the occupied Palestinian territories. The Council stated that these actions constitute a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of international law, and an undermining of efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region. It also reiterated its call upon the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, which has persisted for over seven decades, and to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
