Weather: Low-Pressure System Brings Drop in Temperature Across Country

Ramallah: The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) announced that the country will experience the effects of a low-pressure system today, accompanied by a cold air mass. The weather conditions are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy and cold, particularly in the mountainous regions, with scattered light rain anticipated in some areas. In the afternoon, rain showers are expected across most areas, becoming heavy at times and accompanied by thunderstorms. Winds will vary from northwesterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, with occasional active spells. Sea conditions are expected to be moderate. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the evening and night will continue to bring partly cloudy to cloudy and cold weather, with widespread showers that could become heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail. Winds during this period will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, moderate to active. Sea waves are anticipated to remain moderate. The low-pressure system's influ ence will persist into Tuesday, leading to a further drop in temperatures. Partly cloudy and cold weather is expected, especially in the mountainous areas, with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms and hail. The likelihood of rain will decrease in the evening and overnight. Winds are predicted to be moderate, blowing from the southeast to northwest, while sea waves will be moderately rough. By Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy, with little change in temperatures. It will remain cold, particularly in mountainous regions, with a chance of light, scattered rain during the morning. Winds will blow moderately from the northwest, occasionally intensifying, and the sea will be moderately rough. On Thursday, the weather is forecasted to be generally clear with a slight rise in temperatures, although it will remain cold in the mountainous areas. Winds will be light to moderate, from the southeast to northwest, occasionally becoming stronger. The sea is expected to be calm to slight. The PMD has i ssued warnings regarding the potential risks during the low-pressure system, including flash floods and flooding in valleys and low-lying areas, particularly in the south and east. Additionally, there is a warning for slippery roads, reduced horizontal visibility, and lower temperatures.
