Jerusalem: Patriarchs and heads of churches in Jerusalem on Monday condemned the attack at a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney's Bondi Beach in Australia.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the church leaders emphasized the shared belief in respecting all innocent human beings, highlighting that this is a common tenet among the Children of Abraham. They stressed the importance of moving beyond mere respect to actively seeking ways to help one another. The patriarchs praised the actions of Ahmed al Ahmed, a Muslim who intervened during the attack by tackling one of the shooters, an act that likely saved numerous lives. They emphasized that people of faith are called to help and defend one another, as exemplified by Ahmed's actions.
The violent incident resulted in at least 15 fatalities and left 27 others injured.
