Ramallah: The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) announced that Israeli authorities have continued an unprecedented escalation of systematic detentions, with approximately 21,000 detentions in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and thousands more in Gaza, following the onset of the occupation's genocidal war.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the PPS affirmed that Israeli authorities are committing further systematic crimes against detainees and their families, which are part of an ongoing war of extermination. The statement highlighted that the increasing daily detention figures are accompanied by escalating crimes, including extrajudicial killings by the occupation army and legislative efforts to enact a law permitting the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners.
The PPS emphasized that the current occupation crimes are an extension of a decades-long policy targeting Palestinian presence, with intensified violations since the recent war began. The demolition of homes belonging to prisoners Abdul Karim Sanoubar and Ayman Ghanem earlier today was cited as part of Israel's efforts to implement collective punishment. These actions have reached unprecedented levels since the start of the genocidal war.
