French Journalists’ Unions Host Solidarity Festival for Palestinian Journalists in Paris

Paris: French journalists' unions - the National Union of Journalists (SNJ), SNJ-CGT, and CFDT-Journalists - organized a solidarity festival with Palestinian journalists, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the festival took place at the General Confederation of Labour hall in Paris, attended by key figures including International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) President Dominique Pradali©, head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate Nasser Abu Baker, and leaders from the French journalists' unions.

The event was dedicated to honoring and supporting Palestinian journalists, especially those working under challenging conditions in the Gaza Strip. The organizers commended their bravery and commitment to truth-telling despite facing significant risks. Additionally, they urged for the immediate access of foreign journalists into the Gaza Strip to ensure comprehensive coverage of the region.

Nasser Abu Baker expressed gratitude towards the French unions for their solidarity, highlighting the significance of such support for journalists in Gaza who persist in their duties amidst difficult circumstances. He emphasized the necessity for international media access to Gaza to facilitate accurate reporting, and he called on the global community to uphold the protection of journalists and press freedom as fundamental humanitarian and ethical obligations.
