WHO Urges Immediate Evacuation for 16,000 Patients in Gaza

Gaza: The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that more than 16,000 patients in the Gaza Strip are still awaiting evacuation for medical treatment abroad. The organization called for ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid through all crossings into the Gaza Strip, given the critically deteriorating health and humanitarian situation. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the WHO stressed the need for more countries to accept patients and the injured from Gaza for treatment, emphasizing that the health system in Gaza is facing complete collapse due to the ongoing blockade and shortages of medical supplies and fuel. The organization highlighted that thousands of wounded individuals require urgent surgeries that cannot be performed within Gaza, and facilitating their transfer to hospitals outside the region has become a pressing humanitarian issue. The WHO indicated that its medical supplies are ready at the border and called for the immediate reopening of all crossings.
