Northern jordan valley: Colonists began fencing off agricultural lands in the northern Jordan Valley on Thursday, in preparation for seizing them. The head of the al-Maleh village council, Mahdi Daraghmeh, reported that colonists started enclosing lands registered in the land registry (Tabu) to Palestinian citizens in Khirbet Samra.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the targeted lands cover approximately 2,000 dunams. These lands are crucial for the local Palestinian citizens, who rely on them for rain-fed agriculture and using the crops to feed their livestock.
For several weeks, colonists have been actively fencing off lands owned by Palestinian citizens in various areas of the northern Jordan Valley. This move is seen as an attempt to seize the lands and impose a new reality on the ground by force.
In addition to the recent activities in Khirbet Samra, similar actions have been noted in other parts of the valley. In Farsiya, colonists have already fenced off more than 500 dunams, and in Umm al-Jamal, they attempted to enclose approximately 1,200 dunams before intervention from Palestinian authorities.
