Cairo: Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, expressed his support for the recent recognition of an independent State of Palestine by Britain, Canada, and Australia. In a statement released yesterday, Aboul-Gheit emphasized that this recognition addresses a longstanding historical oversight.
According to Nam News Network, Aboul-Gheit made his remarks on his X account, describing the recognition as a measure that aligns with the aspirations of the people in these countries. He highlighted the importance of supporting the Palestinian right to independence and dignity.
Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, also confirmed Canada's recognition of the State of Palestine in a statement issued yesterday, further underscoring international support for Palestinian sovereignty.
