Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has issued a warning that one million women and girls in the Gaza Strip are facing mass starvation, violence, and abuse. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA has highlighted the dire situation where women and girls are compelled to adopt dangerous survival strategies. These include venturing out to search for food and water, exposing themselves to the extreme risk of being killed. UNRWA has called for the immediate lifting of the siege on Gaza and the large-scale entry of humanitarian aid into the region. The agency has also urged for an immediate ceasefire to alleviate the conditions faced by the population in the Gaza Strip.
