Paris: France condemned on Tuesday the Israeli fire on civilians gathered around an aid distribution center in Gaza last night that left several dozen people killed or injured.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, France reiterated its full support for UN agencies and their humanitarian partners, emphasizing their integrity and capability to deliver aid while adhering to humanitarian principles. France stressed that humanitarian aid must remain free from political or military exploitation.
France has called on the Israeli government to authorize the immediate, massive, and unhindered flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza. A press release issued by the Consulate General of France in Jerusalem highlighted the urgent need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the unconditional release of all hostages.
Furthermore, the press release stated that France continues to work toward these goals, emphasizing the importance of creating an alternative to war for both Palestinians and Israelis. This would address the legitimate aspirations for a Palestinian state and allow both communities to live in peace and security.
The release concluded by stressing the need to maintain the momentum that began in the lead-up to the International Conference for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, with an active commitment to achieving this end.
