Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) emphasized on Sunday that the continuous flow of aid is crucial to preventing the worsening crisis in Gaza, which has been under a stringent Israeli blockade for nearly three months. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the UN agency made this assertion in a post on the X platform, highlighting the ongoing humanitarian and relief crisis in the Gaza Strip since Israel closed the crossings on March 2. UNRWA underscored the urgency of the situation, stating that Palestinians in Gaza cannot afford to wait any longer for aid. The agency specified that the region requires a minimum of 500 to 600 aid trucks daily, managed by the United Nations, to meet the basic needs of its people. Since October 7, 2023, the situation in Gaza has escalated, with Israel conducting military operations in the area, fully supported by the United States. These actions have resulted in over 176 Palestinians being killed or injured, with the majority being children and women, and more than 11 individuals reported missing.
