Gaza: Switzerland has called for the immediate lifting of the Israeli blockade on humanitarian aid destined for the Gaza Strip, which has been in place for over two months.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs released a statement today on X, expressing deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The situation has been exacerbated by ongoing Israeli airstrikes and the continued blockade.
The statement emphasized Switzerland's alarm over the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe and the reported risk of famine in Gaza. It urged Israel to lift the blockade without delay to alleviate the dire situation.
The Swiss ministry highlighted the urgent need for unhindered humanitarian access in accordance with international humanitarian law and longstanding humanitarian principles. Switzerland reaffirmed its commitment to these principles and called for immediate action to address the humanitarian needs in Gaza.
