Amman: For the second time in a row, the Israeli occupation authorities have prevented the International Labor Organization's (ILO) fact-finding committee from entering Palestine. The committee's objective was to prepare its annual report on the conditions of Palestinian workers and the Israeli practices that violate their rights.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Minister of Labor Inas Al-Attari met with the ILO committee in Amman, Jordan. The meeting aimed to inform the committee of the Israeli violations against Palestinian workers. The committee had intended to assess the situation directly within Palestine but was unable to do so due to the entry restrictions.
The committee expressed that the prevention of their entry into Palestine constitutes a violation of international laws and treaties that guarantee freedom of work and movement. It also conveyed its deep concern regarding the increasing violations faced by Palestinian workers. These developments highlight ongoing challenges in assessing and addressing labor rights issues in the region.
