Ramallah: President Mahmoud Abbas has issued a presidential decree promoting Brigadier-General Akram Thawabta to the rank of Major General and appointing him as the head of the Civil Defense Force.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this appointment marks a significant leadership change within the Civil Defense Force.
