President Abbas Appoints Akram Thawabta as Civil Defense Chief

Ramallah: President Mahmoud Abbas has issued a presidential decree promoting Brigadier-General Akram Thawabta to the rank of Major General and appointing him as the head of the Civil Defense Force.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this appointment marks a significant leadership change within the Civil Defense Force. Brigadier-General Thawabta's promotion to Major General aligns with the strategic objectives of enhancing the operational efficiency and response capabilities of the Civil Defense Force.

The decision to appoint Major General Thawabta is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the leadership team within the Civil Defense, reflecting the administration's commitment to public safety and effective emergency management. The newly appointed chief is expected to build on the existing framework, focusing on improving disaster response strategies and infrastructure resilience.
