Gaza: The World Food Program announced that its trucks carrying essential food parcels have started entering the Gaza Strip. This development follows the implementation of a ceasefire in the region, allowing humanitarian aid to reach those in need.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the announcement was made through a post on the UN program's account on X, formerly known as Twitter. The WFP specified that their trucks began crossing into Gaza via the Zikim and Kerem Shalom crossings. These initial deliveries contain life-saving wheat flour and ready-to-eat food parcels aimed at providing immediate relief to the population facing severe shortages.
The UN program emphasized the importance of the ceasefire, describing it as critical for facilitating a humanitarian response. They stressed the need for safety and access to be maintained to ensure that aid can reach all those affected by the crisis.
