Ramallah: The overall Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine reached 81.12 during November 2024 with a decrease of 3.93% compared to October 2024, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the IPI for November 2024 decreased due to the decline in several key sectors. The activities of Mining and Quarrying experienced a significant drop of 12.47%, contributing a share of 2.89% to the total industry. Similarly, the Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning Supply sector saw an 11.77% decrease, representing 7.38% of the total industry. The Manufacturing Industry, which forms the majority with a share of 87.89%, fell by 2.79%. Additionally, the activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management, and Remediation decreased by 2.74%, accounting for 1.84% of the total industry.
The PCBS also noted that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, resulted in all working institutions in industrial production being unable to engage in any production activity in the Gaza Strip for November 2024.
