Paris: Palestine on Thursday emphasized the urgent need for the international community to intervene and halt the Israeli aggression targeting Palestinian territories. This call was made during the 34th session of the Intergovernmental Council of the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC), which convened on November 21-22 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh highlighted the necessity for the international community and United Nations organizations to take swift action to stop the ongoing aggression by Israel against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. Abu Rudeineh urged international media to amplify efforts to disclose the practices and crimes committed by Israeli occupation authorities. He stressed the severe impact of the Israeli aggression on Palestinians and underscored the importance of global solidarity with Palestine, aligning with United Nations res olutions. Abu Rudeineh called on countries worldwide to sever ties with the Israeli occupation, citing Israel's continued settler colonialism, non-compliance with international law, and disregard for UN resolutions. This includes the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion, which deemed Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories as "unlawful" and condemned its separation policies as violations of international laws related to "racial segregation" and "apartheid." Abu Rudeineh reiterated that resolving the Palestinian issue, based on international law, UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, is essential for addressing all regional conflicts. He advocated for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The IPDC is expected to adopt a resolution on Friday condemning the targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists and media personnel by Israeli forces.
