Ramallah: President Mahmoud Abbas Thursday expressed appreciation for the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell for his stances in support of Palestine. Speaking over video conference, President Abbas discussed with Borrell the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and the means to implement the UN resolutions calling for immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, President Abbas thanked the EU along with its member states for all the political and financial support that have been providing not only to the two-state solution, but also to building the Palestinian state institutions and enhancing Palestinian-European partnerships. He also voiced his appreciation for Borrell's stances, whereby Borrell called for reaching ceasefire, allowing unhindered access of humanitarian and relief aid to all parts of the Strip, allowing the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibilities in the Strip, and for full Isr aeli withdrawal from the Strip.
