HRBON: Israeli colonists Sunday set up a tent near Palestinian citizens' homes in the Sidt al-Thala area of Masafer Yatta to the south of Hebron, in an apparent prelude to taking over the land, according to a local activist. Activist Osama MaKhamra, a local anti-settler-colonialism activist, reported that colonists set up a tent close to Palestinian citizens' homes in the Sidt al-Thala area and raised the occupation flags on citizens' land. Colonists have escalated their attacks against Palestinian citizens and their property in the said area, including attacks against olive harvesters and shepherds, seeking to force them out of their lands for the benefit of colonial expansion. Although common, colonists' attacks and violence against Palestinians have significantly escalated since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, driven by many Israeli officials' statements inciting violence and hatred. The widespread violence by Israeli colonists against Palestinian civilians, including the destru ction of homes and property, has drawn significant international condemnation. Several countries have imposed sanctions on colonists accused of committing violent acts against Palestinians in the West Bank. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA
