Casualties in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza; medical professional detained by Israeli troops

GAZA: Multiple Palestinian citizens were killed and injured in Israeli airstrikes on Saturday afternoon in northern Khan Younis and near a school in Gaza City, according to local sources. The sources reported that Israeli forces targeted the Al-Shahayda area north of the town of Abassan Al-Kabira, in the Khan Younis province, resulting in several casualties among civilians. In a separate attack, Israeli drones struck the vicinity of Al-Fakhoura School in northern Gaza, leading to the murder of two individuals. Additionally, Israeli helicopters opened fire with heavy machine guns on areas where civilians were gathered west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and in southern Gaza City. In a related development, Israeli forces detained Dr. Mohammad Ubeid, the head of the Department of Reconstructive Surgery and Orthopedics at Al-Awda Hospital, while he was present at Kamal Adwan Hospital. Earlier today, Israeli troops withdrew from the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, after a raid that began yesterday, resulting in significant casualties and widespread destruction. The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 42,847 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 100,544 others injured. Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks. Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
