619 Families Affected and Nearly 4,000 Palestinians Displaced Amid Israeli Aggression in Hebron

Hebron:The number of families affected by the ongoing Israeli aggression in parts of Hebron city has risen to 619, with approximately 3,971 Palestinians forcibly displaced from their homes and 85 detained, as per official figures.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, Riyad Khamis, spokesperson for the Follow-up, Support and Relief Committee, stated that the number of affected families and displaced residents is increasing. He noted that the number of families registered with the committee has more than tripled since the aggression began. Of these families, 283 are staying with relatives, 266 have not found safe accommodation, 47 have sought shelter elsewhere, and 23 are in rented homes.

Khamis further elaborated that around 3,971 Palestinians have been forced to flee their homes, especially in the areas of Deir Baha and al-Jilda, with many still besieged in their homes in neighboring areas. The Palestinian Prisoner's Society reported that Israeli forces have detained 85 Palestinians, including a girl, since the aggression commenced, and over 250 others have been held for field interrogation.

The Follow-up, Support and Relief Committee has begun distributing aid and essential supplies to the affected families. Relief efforts continue around the clock, coordinating assistance and assessing property damage. Israeli forces have closed off areas in al-Jilda and Deir Baha, compelling families to evacuate, and have imposed closures at the entrances to Hebron city and surrounding towns and camps, severely restricting movement.

Additionally, Israeli occupation forces have reportedly assaulted Palestinians, damaged vehicles, and used them to block roads. The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 272 attacks by Israeli forces and colonists in Hebron during September, including 122 by colonists. The commission also recorded 19 demolitions targeting 91 structures, marking Hebron as the West Bank governorate with the highest number of demolitions during this period. The ongoing military measures and closures have severely impacted the humanitarian and living conditions in Hebron, affecting housing, employment, and access to property.
