UN SECURITY COUNCIL TO HOLD OPEN SESSION ON PALESTINE ISSUE ON JULY 24

UNITED NATIONS, The United Nations Security Council will hold an open session devoted to the Palestine issue on July 24, says Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Riyad Mansour.

The UN Special Co-ordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, presented a report to the Security Council on behalf of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the situation in Palestine and also what is expected from the Council to assume its responsibilities, including the preservation of international peace and security, Mansour told the Voice of Palestine radio station.

Mansour added that intense consultations, relating to the report, will see the participation of several parties as well as representatives of the UN Secretary-General to discuss the protection of civilian inhabitants in the occupied territories against the attacks by the Israeli occupiers.
