DUBLIN, President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Irish capital of Dublin on Saturday for an official visit, during which he is expected to meet his Irish counterpart Michael Higgins and Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.
President Abbas will address both the Irish President and the Prime Minister on the latest situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the accelerated Israeli settlement activities.
Abbas’ visit to Ireland is part of a round of visits to Europe which started last Thursday when he arrived in a similar official visit to French capital Paris.
The President is also scheduled to head to New York on Sunday evening to attend the 73rd meeting of the UN General Assembly.
