Official Media Workshop kicks off in China

BEIJING, The Training Course for the Palestinian Official Media Practitioners for the year 2018 kicked off in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on Monday with the participation of a Palestinian delegation consisting of a number of journalists and media representatives of the official media in Palestine.

The course, which focuses mainly on media and information exchange and enriching friendship and cooperation between China and Palestine, is sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and is set to last from June 26 until July 16 in Xijiao Hotel conference room.

The Palestinian delegation includes 20 journalists, reporters, directors, editors and media editors from several Palestinian official media institutions such as the Palestine Broadcasting Commission, al-Hayat al-Jadida newspaper and Palestine News and Information Agency (WAFA) and is led by Khaled Dabbas, program manager in Voice of Palestine radio.

During the opening ceremony, Fang Feng, head of Communication Training Department in the Chinese Group for International Publishing, warmly welcomed the Palestinian delegation and spoke about the possible ways to develop the Palestinian-Chinese relations in different fields.

She said that, in addition to attending seminars on several topics, the delegation will also visit a number of Chinese media institutions and other cultural sites in Beijing.

Dabbas thanked the workshop managers on behalf of Ahmad Assaf, General Supervisor of Official Media in Palestine, and praised their efforts to bring the Palestinians to China in order to get to know more about the Chinese media experience.

Zhao Lijun, head of Education and Training Center in the Chinese Group for International Publishing, also welcomed the Palestinian delegation noting that the Chinese Commission for International Publishing was established 60 years ago and is determined to convey the Chinese image to the rest of the world through publishing 30 magazines and through social media websites.
