Nine Jerusalemites released from prison, placed under house arrest

JERUSALEM, The Israeli authorities decided to release on Thursday eight Palestinians from Issawyieh neighborhood of East Jerusalem after paying $1400 bail each and placed them under house arrest for five days, according to attorney Mohammad Mahmoud.

The eight, between 16 and 19 years of age, were detained in their neighborhood on allegation of resisting the Israeli occupation.

Another young Palestinian resident of the Old City of Jerusalem was also released on Wednesday night and placed under house arrest for five days.
