Israel prevents call for prayers at Ibrahimi Mosque 47 times in November

JERUSALEM, Sunday, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Yousef Ed’ais said on Sunday that in November alone, Israeli occupation authorities banned the Muslim call for prayer at the Ibrahim Mosque in Hebron 47 times under the pretext that the call was annoying to Israeli settlers.

Ed’ais said Israel is using this policy, in addition to the intensified military measures on the entrances of the mosque, to abuse Muslims and ban them from praying at the mosque

Ed’ais called on the international community to stand up to its obligations to protect the holy places in Palestine from further Israeli violations.

Israeli forces have at times imposed strict restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshippers to the holy site, such as forcing them into going through electronic metal detectors and military checkpoints on the way to the mosque.
