Jerusalem – Ma’an – Politico newspaper quoted a senior American official as saying that senior figures in President Joe Biden’s administration urged Israel to open the Kerem Shalom crossing for aid, noting that Washington’s calls to open the crossing were presented behind closed doors.

The newspaper explained – quoting sources – that Israel refused to open the crossing, citing military and political reasons, and that this refusal caused disagreements regarding the management of the war.
