A massive arrest campaign in Shuafat and Anata camps

Jerusalem – Ma’an – The occupation forces carried out, at dawn on Monday, a campaign of arrests and widespread raids in the Shuafat refugee camp and the town of Anata, in the city of Jerusalem.

After midnight, large forces stormed the town of Anata and the Shuafat camp and all its neighbourhoods, through several entrances (the entrance to Anata, the camp checkpoint, and the Ras Khamis gate), and were deployed in all the streets, alleys and roads.

The people of the camp and Anata explained that the raid continued until the morning hours, and after the withdrawal from inside the camp, they were stationed at the entrances, especially at the military checkpoint, and were followed by long inspection procedures for all vehicles, pedestrians and buses, and this coincided with the departure of students and employees to their schools and work, which led to traffic crises in the camp.

Residents explained that during the storming of homes, their contents were vandalized, residents were assaulted, arrests were carried out and summonses were issued, and field investigations were conducted with a number of residents.

Local sources reported that the arrests included: the media advisor in the Jerusalem Governorate, Marouf Rifai, the leader of the Fatah movement, Raafat Alyan, Alaa Abu Haniyeh, Yazan Salama, Alaa Abu Haniyeh, Muhammad Al-Nouri, Yazan Makhamreh, Malek Khashan, Muhammad Hoshiya, Mustafa Al-Bayaa, Qais Al-Bayaa. , Zein Sharha, Bassam Dawoud, Anas Rayyan, Daoud Fadl, and Muhammad Rayyan.
